Standard Install Base
The Standard Install Base is the foundation of every permanent Swim Tether setup. Made from 316 stainless steel and polished to a mirror finish, it mounts flush to your concrete pool deck and accepts all Swim Tether pole models (ST1, ST2, ST3).
Installation is straightforward with our step-by-step guide — drill, anchor, and you're ready to swim. When the pole is removed, the base sits nearly flush and unobtrusive on your deck.

Dimensions:
- On the deck: low-profile cap, 2.46 in across and about 3/16 in tall (62.5 × 4.5 mm)
- Below the deck: 1 in diameter stem, 2-1/2 in long (25 × 64 mm)
- Hole to drill: 1-1/8 in wide × 3 in deep, set with hydraulic cement
- Pole socket: 7/8 in (22 mm) bore — sized for every Swim Tether pole

This ground level concrete socket is so easy to fit… So much so I fitted three!! 👌👍😆
I love that it came with a plug too. Until I could not get the plug out. I have tried cutting it into pieces. My next attempt will be to drill a screw into it and hope I can pull it out that way. I have two swim tethers cemented in. Kind of a silly design for a plug.

If you have a pool that’s not big enough to swim laps, you need one of these. A few hundred bucks vs a $15k - $20k add on propulsion system is a no brainer.
I was about to get rid of my inground pool. My kids grew and lost interest in it. It is too small for me to enjoy a 30-minute daily swimming. An alternative would have been acquiring a FastLane system from Endless Pool for a total ridiculous cost of about 17k, which would have rusted on me in a matter of 2 seasons or so. Swim tether solved my issue. I swim and enjoy daily, literally. One of the best investments ever made! All ingenious is simple, as it is said. I am very, very, very happy.

I’ve done 3 swims now in my standard size backyard inground pool. I got the 8’ cord and swim facing across the width, not length, of the pool. Tether belt is comfortable. I hardly feel it. I cam swim harder or more relaxed and the cord stretches to accommodate. And I can swim without worrying about lanes or turns, which gets better practice for open water swimming.
Easy ordering process. Excellent, personalized customer service. Haven't used the product yet, as the pool is still being built, but I look forward to.
Installing the plate isn't too hard with my construction background and access to tools and epoxy, but for someone who doesn't have the same construction background, they may find it a struggle. If you don't have access to a core drill and bit, then it can get a little pricey as well. The product it self seems to work quite well.
Swim tether is so awesome! It doesn’t impede my swim technique and has enough resistance to give you a great workout. I would highly recommend this product!!

Funny story…my dog ate my swim tether plug for the standard base. Is it possible to purchase another one? I like the idea of keeping the pole hole clean and clear of debris when I remove the pole after training.

My install plate is rusting how can I remove it so it can be replaced? I have a 17’ Barefoot swim spa and it came with the install plate already installed.
